Memorial Fund

Mark has requested that, in lieu of flowers, gifts be given to a memorial fund. At this point it has not been decided how the funds will be used.

Gifts can be sent to
Liveoak Church
c/o Jeff Kobes
2203 Granger Lane
Cedar Park, TX 78613

Checks should be made payable to Liveoak Church. Please note that you are giving to Marshall's Memorial Fund.

Funeral to be at Mission Funeral Home

Though there is no firm date set for the funeral (probably Thursday or maybe Wednesday), the funeral location has been set.

The funeral will be held at Mission Funeral Home on 6204 S. 1st Street; Austin TX 78745. The number is 512-444-3355.

Mason's skin graft and the funeral

Right now Mason is scheduled to have surgery for skin grafts on Tuesday. If the funeral is on Wednesday or Thursday, then it could be difficult (if not impossible) for Mason to be released for a short time to go to the funeral.

Pray that God would intervene and have Mason's skin graft surgery be able to be delayed or be able to have Mason released to attend the funeral. Pray also for wisdom on when to have the funeral because it could be delayed a bit to allow Mason to attend.

Pray that God would use Marshall's death

Kristin has been praying that Marshall's death would be used by God to bring about a great victory for His kingdom. She has asked that others would be praying for this as well.

Pray that many souls would be saved as a result of Marshall's death.

Funeral probably later in the week

Mark and Kristin talked to the Army Sgt. who helped the Hagens determine how the funeral will work. Marshall will be buried with military honor guard and bugler (if one is available).

At this point, based on the time it will take for identification, preparation and making of the uniform to display Marshall's medals, the funeral is looking like it will be on Wednesday or Thursday. This is by no means firm because they want to make sure that Mason can be at the funeral but he will be undergoing skin grafts on Tuesday which could make it difficult for him to attend.

Mason Update

This is Heidi. Here is a quick update on Mason's condition. When I got to the hospital this morning, he looked a lot better. He is alert and cheerful. He ate all of his breakfast this morning, which is really good since he didn't feel like eating at all yesterday. The physical therapist redressed his burns this morning, which was very, very painful for him, but they got him a PCA (patient controlled analgesia) which gives him a lot better pain control. PT said he will have to have a skin graft, though, on his right ankle. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. We will keep you all updated. Thank you all so much for your prayers, support, gifts, phone calls, and visits. They have really been a comfort to me. I am so amazed at all people have done for me and my family. Thank you.

Love,
Heidi
